CPC in perspective

It was the Basel Mission that started it. It is the Presbyterian Church that built it. Yes, the Baptist came later. So it was the Protestant Churches that did it. But the Government and the will of the people were in all along. They gave approval. The support of the ex-students through the Boban community worldwide is certainly commendable.

The College today has a population of over 1000 students and buildings amongst them a science lab, library, administration block, dinning hall, staff quarters and Halls of residence. The names of these Hall – O’Niell, Ashilli, Saker, Grest, Fonyonga, Kansen and Vilhauer – reflect the international outlook of the college. In addition there are bungalows 1- 6.

The arrival of Mr. Samuel N. Nfonyam on campus in October 1971, taking up duties as the first Cameroonian Principal of the College virtually on Christmas day that year, and the commencement of the High School in 1972/73 mark the beginning of another important period. Then came the rein of Mr. A N Sumbele, principal from September 1981 to June 1986. The first BOBAN principal took charge of the college in September 1986 in the person of Rev Dr S A K Ndingwan(of late) with Mrs Daniel as interim principal in-between. In the 1990s, the college opened its doors to girls joining the first cycle. Principals there after, included Mr Lawrence Nsoh and presently Mr Samuel Awantu. CPC Bali will soon attain 60 years of rendering a valuable service to the Cameroonian youths.
